Tallyside
Delete your account
You can delete your Tallyside account at any time. There are two ways to do it, and you do not need the app installed to ask.
In the app, or on the web
This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.
- In the mobile app: open More, scroll to Account, and choose Delete account.
- On the web: sign in, open your profile, and use Delete my account under Your account.
Before you confirm, either screen shows you exactly which of your records will be kept and why, so the decision is made with that in front of you rather than in a policy afterwards.
By email, if you cannot sign in
If you have removed the app, lost access to your email, or cannot sign in for any other reason, write to privacy@tallyside.com from any address and tell us the email address the account uses. We will verify that the request comes from the account holder before doing anything — a deletion request nobody checked is a way to delete somebody else’s account.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in and the ability to authenticate
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your profile — headline, biography, occupation, employer, education, location and links
- Your photograph, where you uploaded one
What your organizations keep
Records of what you took part in stay with the organizations they belong to, with your name removed and no longer connected to you:
- Attendance records — that somebody was checked in to a shift, and when
- Credited hours, and the value placed on them for reporting
- Donations, which are the organization’s financial records
- Safeguarding records, where any exist
Why they are kept. These are the organization’s records of what happened, not your personal data about yourself. Grant-funded programs are audited against them, and an organization that could not evidence the hours it reported would be unable to meet obligations it has already taken on. Safeguarding records exist to protect people and a child-protection record must not disappear because an adult closed an account. So these are retained with your identity removed, rather than deleted.
How long it takes
A deletion is scheduled for thirty days after you ask. During that window nothing is lost and you can change your mind from the same screen. After it, your sign-in and personal details are removed and cannot be recovered.
If you are the last owner
If you are the only remaining owner of an organization, the request is refused and says so. Give somebody else ownership first — otherwise deleting your account would leave an organization, and everybody in it, with nobody able to administer it.
